CoinSpinner is a collector reference, not a buy or sell quote. Each page combines date, mint, composition, mintage, grade ladders, and known series context so collectors can compare coins consistently before doing final verification.
Price Inputs
Current estimates are built from published guide baselines, issue metadata, grade ladders, and metal-value floors where the intrinsic silver or gold content is meaningful. When sold-comps are introduced, CoinSpinner will favor median-style ranges over single outlier sales.
Grade Matters
Prices are shown by grade because condition drives collector value. A common date in worn condition and the same date in high mint state can behave like two different markets.
Melt Floors
Silver and gold issues can show a melt floor when metal content creates a practical minimum. Melt values are guideposts, use fixed spot assumptions in the current build, and can move with metals markets.
Confidence Labels
Coin pages label confidence so readers can tell whether a value is guide-backed, baseline derived, melt-sensitive, or still missing. These labels help separate stable reference data from pages that need more market evidence.
Confidence Levels
Guide-backed
Pricing exists across one or more grades from the imported guide baseline.
Baseline estimate
The page has a derived reference value, but needs stronger date-specific market confirmation.
Melt-sensitive
Intrinsic metal value can dominate lower collector grades, especially for bullion-related issues.
Unpriced
The coin identity is present, but grade pricing has not been added yet.
Limitations
CoinSpinner does not replace certification, dealer review, auction research, or recent sold-comps checks. Varieties, surface problems, toning, CAC-style premiums, population rarity, and local demand can all change the real market outcome. Treat each estimate as a starting point.
Corrections
The guide is designed to improve over time. If a mintage, variety, image, historical note, or price band looks wrong, use the report link on a coin page so the issue can be reviewed.
