Barber Dime series: Designed by Mint Chief Engraver Charles Barber after public dissatisfaction with the previous Seated Liberty design. The 1894-S Barber Dime is one of the most famous American rarities - only 24 were struck, and roughly 9 are known to survive. Series ended in 1916 with the introduction of the Mercury Dime. Designed by Charles E. Barber. Struck 1892–1916.
